Refund and cancellation

This policy applies to paid programming consulting services—technical assessments, advisory sessions, and scoped implementation engagements offered by API Lumen Consulting (Pty) Ltd (CIPC 2018/362240/07). Fees and scope are agreed in writing after your inquiry; this page sets baseline consumer terms under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

Proposed terms — pending business confirmation: durations below follow common South African consulting practice until superseded by your signed statement of work.

Cooling-off (direct marketing)

If you concluded a transaction after unsolicited direct marketing (including responding to a paid advertisement), you may cancel within five (5) business days of conclusion under CPA section 44 and Regulation 5(2), unless the service has already been fully performed with your express consent.

Service fees before work starts

Once you confirm a booking in writing but we have not started billable work, you may cancel for a full refund of fees paid for that booking within five business days of confirmation.

Work in progress

If assessment or advisory work has begun, refunds are limited to the unused portion of prepaid fees. Time already spent at agreed day rates is non-refundable.

Deposits and milestones

Deposits secure calendar capacity. They are refundable until the kick-off date stated in your quote. Milestone payments are non-refundable once deliverables for that milestone are delivered or the milestone start date passes with your go-ahead.

Rescheduling and no-shows

One reschedule with at least forty-eight hours’ notice is included per booking block when capacity allows. Missed sessions without notice may be charged at fifty percent of the booked fee.

How to request a refund

Email info@apilumen.digital or call +27-21-000-0113 with your name, invoice reference, and reason. We respond within five business days. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method within fourteen business days unless banking rules require longer.

Exceptions

Custom implementation code delivered and accepted in writing is not refundable. Third-party pass-through costs (licences, travel booked on your behalf) are refunded only if recoverable from the supplier.
